Q&A:

  • Growing up playing many sports, with hockey being the main one, I had numerous injuries. I would seek treatment from different health practitioners and realized it was something I would like to do myself in caring and helping others heal from injury. I was injured in hockey at University and we had an Athletic Therapist help me with rehabilitation of my knee post surgery, once I found out about who they are and what Athletic Therapists do, I transferred out to start the program at Camosun College.

  • You have your body 24/7, I only see you an hour or so a week. I can only guide you in your journey, it will be you doing the work to get better.

  • We don't just treat athletes! And that we don't just stand on sidelines, or hockey benches and open doors.

  • I have had many great successes as an AT, I can't pinpoint one grand moment. The best part about being an athletic therapist is getting to see athletes go back on the field/ice/court for that first game or practice. Knowing I have had a small part in their journey is the best feeling seeing them succeed.

  • I have lived in all 4 western provinces and have moved 16 times.
